Accusing the Polish Government of “indifference” and of “cowardice” in the face of anti-Jewish excesses, a conference of 825 representatives of Jewish labor and Socialist organizations arranged yesterday by the Jewish Labor Committee at the Delano instructed its executive to call the attention of the American Government to the plight of the Polish Jews.
The conference, called to consider measures for aiding Polish Jewry, also decided to survey the economic status of the Jews in Poland and compare it with that of the non-Jews as a basis for constructive action. In other resolutions, the delegates decided to seek aid for the Polish Jews through the League of Nations, called on relief organizations to help them and authorized a protest against recent excesses to the Polish Embassy.
Among the speakers was B.C. Vladeck, chairman of the committee.
