High school pupils were among a large number of persons under arrest today for attacking Jews in the streets of Wilno.
Energetic police action halted attacks on Zawalna and Mostowa streets in Wilno. Leaders of the anti-Semitic Nationalist party were among those seized by the police. Windows of Jewish shops were broken before the police halted the disorders.
A Jewish delegation from Tserniakow, a Warsaw suburb, appealed to the Warsaw Jewish community today for protection against terrorist attacks. They told of disorders in which Jews assaulted, windows smashed and several anti-Semites arrested.
In Cracow, the police announced that rioters in the town of Muszino had been dispersed after excesses which resulted from an incident involving the display of an anti-Jewish poster. The mob smashed windows of Jewish homes and a synagogue.
Meanwhile, Jewish meat dealers mapped plans here for keeping their trade in the face of the new law restricting kosher slaughtering.
Informed that Polish dealers were preparing to take over their trade after the law becomes effective, a conference of Jewish butchers decided in a resolution to take all possible steps to maintain their position.
