A group of thirty University of Toronto students were today nursing wounds they incurred when, bearing a huge black and white swastika flag and adorned with swastika emblems, they attempted Friday to break up a May Day demonstration of some 20,000 persons in Queens Park, seat of the Provincial Government.
The students marched around the Parliament buildings and into the crowd shouting “Heil Hitler” and “Viva Mussolini” They had to be rescued from the demonstrators by the police, who kept them in the Parliament buildings for safety.
