Hopes of the Endeks, Polish equivalent of the German Nazis, that they would be given a stronger voice in the Government are believed today to have been quite definitely destroyed for the present with the naming of General Felicjan Sla woj Skladowski as Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior to succeed Marjan Zyndram Koscialkowski, who resigned Friday.
It is felt in informed quarters that the new Government will probably present a liberal alignment, and will take drastic measures to suppress the anti-Semitic Nationalists.
The new Premier, who has occupied the post of Minister of the Interior before, until now was Under-Secretary of State. A quarter- master-general in the Polish Army, he is held to be the nominee of General Edward Prydz-Smygly, Marshal Pilsudski’s successor as commander-in-chief of the army. General Skladowski was a close friend of the late Marshal.
Colonel Josef Beck remains as Minister for Foreign Affairs. Eugen Kwiatowski continues as Finance Minister. The resigned premier becomes Minister of Labor and Antonio Roman, former envoy to Stockholm, is the new Minister of Industry and Commerce.
