Million Zloty Loan to Rehabilitate Jews Granted by Poland

The Polish Government has granted a 1,000,000-zloty loan which, with 500,000 zlotys from the Joint Distribution Committee and affiliated organizations, and 500,000 zlotys raised by the Polish Jews will finance a new project for economic rehabilitation of Jews in 500 to 700 small Polish towns and villages, it was announced today.

Alexander Kahn, chairman of the J.D.C.’s committee on Poland, said half of the Government loan will be made available immediately. The work is expected to get under way within a few weeks and will be conducted through the Gemiloth Chessed Kassas (free loan societies).
