Lord Melchett, industrialist and Jewish leader, writing in the Daily Mail today declares that Palestine was never promised to the Arabs but to the Jews in return for their support during the War and for Dr. Chaim Weizmann’s assistance.
The writer states that “responsible Arabs always knew what the future for Palestine was.” He denies that the present difficulties in the Holy Land have been caused by Jews acquiring half of the fertile land or by the activities of Jewish extremists, citing the restraint being exercised by the Jews and asserting that the unrest has largely been stirred by foreign money.
