William Ormsby-Gore, Colonial Secretary, revealed in the House of Commons today that he will announce next Wednesday the personnel and terms of reference of the Royal Commission to investigate Palestine conditions.

He declared that the Commission will be unable to go the Holy Land until sufficient order has been restored there for its members to move about in safety.

“I say quite frankly,” the Colonial Secretary stated, “that the position is still serious.”

It was learned that the Commission will not hear counsel for either the Arabs or the Jews, contrary to the practice followed by the commission which investigated the disturbances of 1929.
