Arguing that the Jewish problem can be settled only if Poland obtains colonies, the Government moved today to demand that the League of Nations grant territory in South Africa and South America.
An official communique said it was the League’s duty to deal with the problem as early as possible.
“The acute Jewish problem and Poland’s own overpopulation make it imperative that Poland claim colonies now in the vast and almost uninhabited territories of South Africa and South America best fitted for Polish immigration and colonization,” the communique said.
It added that countries with large capital resources at low interest — meaning Great Britain and France — should provide the capital necessary for the scheme under League guarantees.
