The first contingent of British troop reinforcements numbering 1,400 men, dispatched here by the British Cabinet to end the Arab rebellion disembarked today.
The soldiers, including 700 officers and members of the headquarters general staff, were immediately sent on three special trains to different sectors of the embattled land. Two trains had orders to proceed to Lydda and the third to Emek Jezreel.
Another troop-ship, the Dorsetshire, was to arrive this afternoon with an estimated 1,300 effectives.
