The Polish Socialist Party was today in full control of the City Council, following yesterday’s elections in which 34 of its members won seats.
The election was a distinct set-back for the anti-Semitic National Democratic Party, which was able to return only 26 of its 39 councilors.
Jewish groups returned twelve representatives to the council, six representing the Jewish Labor Party and the Poale-Zionists, three the Zionists and three the Agudath Israel.
