One of every five Jews remaining in Germany is dependent on relief, it was stated today in a report published in connection with an appeal by 20 Jewish organizations for increased support of the Jewish Winter relief drive.

The coming Winter will be worse for the Jews than the last, the report declared, stating that 80,000 required relief last Winter. The appeal reported that 30,000 Jews have applied for relief in Berlin, including 8,000 who have never asked aid before.

Last year’s expenditures for relief totalled 3,645,000 marks, the report stated. Jews are barred from participating in the general Winter relief campaign.
