Scores of Jewish families were made homeless tonight when fire gutted 25 houses in Radauti in the Dorohi district of Moldavia. Radauti has been the scene of recent anti-Semitic disorders.

Several of the victims of the fire attempted to commit suicide by throwing themselves into the flames.

Peasants in the town of Sibiu attacked Herman Kinzlicher, 64-year-old rabbi, as he was leaving the synagogue, dragged him through the street by the beard and beat him. He was finally rescued by bystanders.
