Ramsay MacDonald, former Prime Minister, told interviewers today he believed the Government intended to prohibit the wearing of uniforms for political purposes. He said the Government would take steps dealing with the use of uniforms “for regimenting or drilling for mass action, or for the purpose of being identified in their conduct as a mass.”
Mr. MacDonald charged the Fascists with deliberately planning to create disorder under the cloak of freedom of speech and declared that such intentions must be circumvented.
“Quite obviously,” he said, “the Fascist conduct in the East End of London must be stopped.”
