The Times today reported from Jerusalem that Arabs are considering a plan to organize a boycott against the purchase of Jewish goods in Arab countries in order to “convince” Jewish and Zionist leaders that the conception of Palestine as a Jewish national home is impossible.

The report followed on the announcement from the Holy Land that the 175-day-old Arab general strike had ended.

In an editorial on cessation of the strike, the conservative Morning Post declared that it was premature to assume that trouble in Palestine could be immediately ended. It added the cynical comment that the report of the British Royal Commission, appointed by the Cabinet to sift the cause of the recent disorders and make proposals for reform, would unquestionably be pigeonholed like the reports of its predecessors.
