Lord Londonderry, former member of the British Cabinet and an outstanding pro-German, arrived in Bucharest Saturday as a guest of King Carol.

In view of his pro-German attitude, there was much speculation in diplomatic circles on the purpose of his visit, and it was thought that he would seek to mediate for closer cooperation between Rumania and Germany.

Lord Londonderry was expected to inform King Carol of the British attitude toward Germany. The Rumanian minister to Berlin also returned to Bucharest.
