The Palestine Government announced today the discontinuance of publication of communiques, which, since the middle of April, have been the official source of news on disorders.

The final communique, No. 289, said “that order has been restored and in the absence of violence and acts of terrorism, communiques will be discontinued.”

The Government had been issuing communiques twice daily until several weeks ago, when it curtailed the statements to one daily.

Several colonies were reported shot at by snipers during the night. Two cases of attempted robbery and an attack on a railway patrol were also reported.

The Government has decided to deport Hassan Sidki el Dajani, Moslem lawyer and leader of the Arab Defense Party, as soon as he completes his sentence in the Sarafend concentration camp, it was understood. Several other Arab leaders are expected to be exiled to places not yet specified.
