Reports that Gen. Edward Rydz-Smigly, Inspector-General of the Polish armies and “strong man” of the Republic, would be named Marshal of the Polish military forces were officially confirmed today, the Havas News Agency said.

The marshal’s baton will be conferred on Gen. Rydz-Smigly by President Ignacy Moscicki in an elaborate ceremony on Nov. 10, the eve of Poland’s national holiday.
