Royal Commission to Leave Nov. 5

The Colonial Office announced that the six-man British Royal Commission, appointed last July to investigate the Palestine disorders, will sail for Marseille, France, on Nov. 5, whence it will embark for the Holy Land the following day.

Besides Lord Peel, members of the commission are: Sir Horace Rumbeld, former British Ambassador to Germany, who has a fluent command of Arabic; Sir Laurie Hammond, former Governor of Assam; Sir Morris Carter, former Chief Justice of Uganda and Tanganyika; Sir Harold Morris, chairman of the National Wages Board and president of the Industrial Court; and Prof. Reginald Coupland, Beit Professor of History at Oxford University.

J. M. Martin of the Colonial Office will act as the commission’s secretary.
