The Government, moving to halt the spreading Arab anti-Jewish boycott, warned newspaper editors today not to agitate for a boycott nor to mention boycott activities on pain of “immediate measures.”
High Commissioner Sir Arthur Grenfell Wauchope, in a nation-wide broadcast over the Government radio station, declared that now was not the time for “rash talk” of a racial boycott, declaring such a boycott would be equally disastrous for all Palestinian groups.
Citing the necessity for abandoning rancor and reaching a common agreement in working for the future, Sir Arthur appealed strongly for peace between Arabs and Jews.
