Foreign Minister Josef Beck, reporting today to the Senate Foreign Affairs Committee, touched on the problem of Jewish emigration but failed to state whether the Polish Government in tended to push recently projected plans for mass emigration of its Jews.

Col. Beck also failed to state how the plans were received at the League of Nations Council meeting.

He declared:

“We raised at the international forum the question regarding colonies referring also to Jewish emigration, which is important because a large section of the Jewish population is making an effort to create a national home in Palestine. However, this is not only a Palestine problem, but a general European and especially an East European problem since the Jews, losing ground, seek opportunities for themselves and for their children through emigration.”
