J. Broadhurst, retired chief of the Palestine Secret Service and the Tel Aviv police, said today in a press interview:
“The Arabs are waiting for the day when the last English reservist leaves Palestine. That zero day will bring an outbreak of Arab guerilla warfare far more intensive than hitherto.”
Pointing out he had seen thirty years’ service in the Holy Land, Broadhurst said that a large standing army, always in readiness, is necessary to maintain peace in Palestine, adding that otherwise a situation similar to the 1929 disorders might develop because the Government may have difficulty in getting reservists to answer a call.
