President Roosevelt has sent a message to the United Synagogue of America endorsing its program for revitalizing Judaism and establishing the synagogue as a dynamic center of Jewish life. The message said that “anything which fosters true religion deserves our loyal support.”

The United Synagogue also made public the names of many other prominent persons who had endorsed the movement. Hyman J. Reit, chairman of the United Synagogue’s Committee to Overcome Religious Indifference, said the committee would hold an inaugural dinner Jan. 21 to be followed by a survey of the cause of religious indifference.
