Polish Interior Ministry Promises to Quell Disorders

The Interior Ministry promised measures today to quell anti-Jewish rioting reported spreading in the Bialystok district after one Jew had been killed and many persons injured, including 23 police, in disturbances in the town of Czyczew.

In putting down the disorders, eight police were seriously wounded and 15 slightly injured. Seventeen rifles were broken. The Interior Ministry promised action after intervention by Deputy Joshua Gottlieb.

Warsaw University will hale 300 students, 70 of them women, before a disciplinary court for participating in anti-Jewish outbreaks last November and December, it was announced today. The outbreaks resulted from efforts of Nationalist students to enforce segregation of Jewish students in "ghetto" benches in classrooms.
