Dr. Isaac Herzog, who arrived from Ireland yesterday to assume the post of Chief Rabbi of the Ashkonazie Jewish Community, received his nomination papers at an impressive ceremony here today.

Among these making formal addresses of welcome were M. M. Ussishkin, world president of the Jewish National Fund; Moshe Shertok, head of the political department of the Jewish Agency for Palestine; Rabbi Moier Berlin, of the Mizrachi Organization, and Isaac Ben Zvi, of the Jewish National Council.

Dr. Herzog, formerly Chief Rabbi of the Irish Free State, succeeds the late Abraham I. HaCohen Kook in the post.
