Praha Passes Law Consolidating Jewish Religious Groups

Parliament today passed a law for consolidation of all Jewish religious communities into one federation. The law also provides for democratic elections for Jewish religious communities and institutions. It was enacted under the sponsorship of Angelo Goldstein, Jewish deputy.

During a debate on the law, a number of Slovakian deputies delivered anti-Jewish speeches. Sharp replies were made by Mr. Goldstein and Deputy Kugel.
