The Soviet Embassy refused today to transmit to Josef Stalin in Moscow a plea by Klara Sobelsohn, 72-year-old mother of Karl Radek, to spare the Soviet editor who is on trial for an alleged Trotskyist plot.

Mrs. Sobelsohn, who was reported to have wired a mercy plea to Stalin yesterday from her home in Tarnow, Galicia, followed the wire today with a letter to the Soviet dictator.
