Dr. Siegfried Schmitz, former representative of the Keren Hayesod in Czechoslovakia, has been appointed head of the Keren Hayesod in Austria in succession to Dr. Fritz Eckstein, who died Jan. 29.
Dr. Schmitz has been active on behalf of the Keren Hayesod for many years. He is well known as the German translator of Shalom Asch’s works.
