A split in Sir Oswald Mosley’s uniformless British Union of Fascists was revealed today with the announcement that two of his former chief aides have formed a rival organization.

The new group, organized by William Joyce and John Beckett, will be known as the National Socialist League. It claims to number among its leaders many of Mosley’s former high officials.

Mr. Joyce, in an interview with the Morning Post, made the following statement:

“After four years’ experience in the British Union in a high official position, I can definitely say the Union has completely failed to win support in England. Mosley’s insistence on personal autocracy and continental heel-clickings has repelled and will repel a majority of Englishmen.”
