Measures taken by the Portuguese Immigration officials to revise identity cards of foreigners are not directed against Jews, it is authoritatively stated here.

Apart from 20 cases of Jewish refugees who were obliged to leave Portugal with many other foreigners who were distrusted by the police, no further cases of compulsory deportations have been registered, it was stated.

Two expulsion orders against German Jewish refugees have been revoked, those of Hugo Loessor and of Frau Dr. Landau. No anti-Jewish measure has ever been put into practice by the Portuguese Government, it is asserted.
