Professor Davide Supino, widely known Italian Jewish economist and a native of this city, died here today at the age of 86.
Prof. Supino held the chair of commercial law at Pisa University, a post to which he was appointed at the age of 27 and had occupied ever since.
He was rector of the university from 1898 to 1920 and a member of the Italian Senate since 1919.
King Victor Emanuel and the president of the Senate have wired condolences, paying tribute to his services to Italy.
