Harry H. Liebovitz, a merchant, was elected president of the Jewish Education Association at a meeting of its members and those of Ivriah, the women’s division, at the Hotel Pierro tonight. Mr. Liebovitz succeeds the late Judge Otto A. Rosalsky. He was formerly treasurer of the association.
Speakers included Mark Eisner, chairman of the Board of Higher Education; Stanley Howe, representing Mayor LaGuardia, and Jonah J. Goldstein, who presided. Reports were submitted by Bernard Semel, honorary secretary of the J.E.A., and Mrs. Gabriel Hamburger, president of Ivriah.
James Marshall, vice-president of the Board of Education, officiated during the installation of officers. They included, besides Mr. Liebovitz: Mr. Goldstein and Samuel Rottenberg, vice-presidents; Mr. Semel, honorary secretary; Nathan Fluegelman, treasurer; J.M. Wachman, assistant treasurer; Dr. David de Sola Pool, secretary to the board of directors, and Mrs. Hamburger, president of Ivriah.
