NATHAN STRAUS, SON OF THE LATE FAMOUS PHILANTHROPIST AND A VICE-PRESIDENT OF THE ZIONIST ORGANIZATION OF AMERICA, WAS APPOINTED YESTERDAY BY PRESIDENT ROOSEVELT AS ADMINISTRATOR OF THE UNITED STATES HOUSING AUTHORITY AND AS SUCH TO DIRECT THE GOVERNMENT’S $526,000,000 SLUM CLEARANCE PROGRAM.

MR. STRAUS, FORMER STATE SENATOR AND NRA ADMINISTRATOR, WILL RECEIVE A $10,000 ANNUAL SALARY. HE HAS LONG BEEN AN AUTHORITY ON LOW-COST HOUSING AND SLUM CLEARANCE.
