ALLEGED NON-COOPERATION OF ZIONIST LEADERS WITH ARABS WAS SCORED YESTERDAY BY PROF. A.S. YAHUDA, NOTED ORIENTALIST, SPEAKING AT MEMORIAL SERVICES FOR AVINOAM YELLIN, PALESTINE GOVERNMENT EDUCATION INSPECTOR WHO WAS SLAIN LAST MONTH BY ARAB TERRORISTS.

FOR YEARS, PROF. YAHUDA CHARGED, ZIONIST LEADERS DID NOT TROUBLE TO CONSIDER THE QUESTION OF ADOPTING A POSITIVE ARAB POLICY. HE CITED A NEGLECTED OPPORTUNITY IN 1921 WHEN, HE SAID, ARAB NOTABLES OPPOSED THE APPOINTMENT OF HAJ AMINEL HUSSEINI AS PRESIDENT OF THE MOSLEM SUPREME COUNCIL AND ZIONIST LEADERS “DID NOT GRASP THE EXTENDED HAND OF THE ARABS, BUT JOINED WITH ADMINISTRATION ELEMENTS IN SUPPORTING THE MUFTI.”
