THE CONVICTION THAT THE PARTITION OF PALESTINE WILL NOT BE REALIZED WAS EXPRESSED HERE BY VLADIMIR JABOTINSKY, PRESIDENT OF THE NEW ZIONIST ORGANIZATION, ADDRESSING A MASS MEETING. HE SAID THAT NEITHER THE BRITISH GOVERNMENT’S WHITE PAPER NOR THE ROYAL COMMISSION’S BLUE BOOK CONSTITUTED A FAIT ACCOMPLI.

MRS. EDGAR DUGDALE, NIECE OF THE LATE LORD BALFOUR, DECLARED TODAY IN AN ADDRESS TO A SOUTH LONDON MEETING THAT SHE DESIRED TO SEE A JEWISH STATE IN PALESTINE IN THE NEAR FUTURE BECAUSE “I THINK OF WHAT 2,000,000 JEWS PLACED IN THAT PARTICULAR COUNTRY COULD DO FOR THE PEACE OF THE WORLD.”

MAJOR JARVIS, FORMER GOVERNOR OF SINAI, ASSERTED IN A SPEECH TO THE ANGLO-PALESTINE CLUB THAT AFTER SEEING JEWISH ACHIEVEMENTS IN “HOPELESS” AREAS HE BELIEVED THERE WERE POSSIBILITIES FOR SETTLEMENT OF A QUARTER OF MILLION JEWS FROM CENTRAL EUROPE IN THE NEGEB IF THE AREA IN SOUTHERN PALESTINE WERE OPENED TO THEM.
