GERMAN LITERATURE AND THE THEATRE HAVE PROSPERED BOTH ARTISTICALLY AND FINANCIALLY SINCE JEWS HAVE BEEN EXPELLED FROM THEIR RANKS, PROPAGANDA MINISTER PAUL JOSEPH GOEBBELS DECLARED TODAY. (THE ASSOCIATED PRESS QUOTED GOEBBELS AS SAYING 3,000 JEWS HAD BEEN OUSTED FROM THEATRE, MOTION PICTURE AND NEWSPAPER JOBS SINCE 1933.)

HAILING NAZI GERMANY’S LITERARY AND ARTISTIC CONCEPTIONS BEFORE THE ANNUAL ASSEMBLY OF THE REICH’S CHAMBER OF CULTURE, THE CABINET MEMBER REVIEWED THE PAST INFLUENCE OF JEWRY ON GERMAN ART AND TRIUMPHANTLY ASSERTED:

“NOT A SINGLE JEW WRITES FOR A GERMAN NEWSPAPER TODAY, NOT A SINGLE JEW PLAYS IN A GERMAN SCENE OR MOTION PICTURE–AND NEVERTHELESS THE PUBLICATIONS ARE BETTER WRITTEN, THE THEATERS ARE MORE NEARLY FILLED AND THE FILMS ARE MORE NUMEROUS AND SUCCESSFUL THAN EVER.”
