Ozet Head Praises Soviet Government for Aiding Jews

SIMON DIMANTSTEIN, PRESIDENT OF THE OZET, DECLARED TODAY THE ACHIEVEMENTS OF THE JEWISH PEOPLE IN SOVIET RUSSIA WERE MADE POSSIBLE BY THE ASSISTANCE OF THE SOVIET AUTHORITIES, ADDRESSING THE FIFTH PLENARY MEETING OF THE SOCIETY FOR JEWISH LAND SETTLEMENT. FIFTY DELEGATES FROM THE UKRAINE, WHITE RUSSIA, GEORGIA, BIRO-BIDJAN AND OTHER PARTS OF THE U.S.S.R. AND A LARGE NUMBER OF GUESTS ARE ATTENDING THE MEETING.

MR. DIMANTSTEIN, SPEAKING ON “THE ACHIEVEMENTS OF THE LENINIST-STALINIST NATIONAL POLICY DURING THE LAST TWENTY YEARS AND THE JEWISH MASSES IN THE U.S.S.R.,” SAID THAT THE OZET WAS ESTABLISHED IN 1925 WITH THE ASSISTANCE OF THE SOVIET AUTHORITIES TO PREPARE THE JEWS FOR A NEW LIFE BASED ON THE NEW STALINIST CONSTITUTION. HE REFERRED TO ANTI-JEWISH ACTIVITIES IN POLAND, GERMANY AND OTHER COUNTRIES.
