SIR CHARLES TEGART, NEWLY APPOINTED ADVISER TO THE PALESTINE GOVERNMENT ON POLICE MATTERS, WILL ARRIVE HERE TOMORROW TO TAKE CHARGE OF THE POLICE CAMPAIGN AGAINST ARAB TERRORISM. SIR CHARLES GAINED A REPUTATION AS A SCOURGE OF TERRORISTS DURING 30 YEARS SERVICE WITH THE INDIAN POLICE.

THE MILITARY COURT HERE SENTENCED TWO ARABS TO ONE AND SEVEN YEARS’ IMPRISONMENT RESPECTIVELY FOR CARRYING ARMS. THE CONVICTIONS ON THAT CHARGE ARE THE FOURTH AND FIFTH SINCE CREATION OF THE ARMY COURTS ON NOV. 18.

A JEWISH PASSENGER WAS SLIGHTLY WOUNDED IN AN ARAB ATTACK ON A BUS EN ROUTE TO HAIFA. MILITARY REINFORCEMENTS CONDUCTING SEARCHES IN THE NORTHERN DISTRICTS DISCOVERED ARMS AND AMMUNITION IN SEVERAL VILLAGES. SEVERAL VILLAGE MUKHTARS WERE ARRESTED.

HIGH COMMISSIONER WAUCHOPE CONFERRED ON THE GENERAL SITUATION WITH RABBI MOSHE BLAU, LEADER OF THE AGUDATH ISRAEL, ORTHODOX JEWISH ORGANIZATION.
