An inter-faith committee of thirty is being established to combat intolerance and preserve individual liberty, it was revealed yesterday at a luncheon given by James W. Gerard, former Ambassador to Germany. The committee of Catholics, Jews and Protestants, is to “explore the possibilities” of radio and public forum groups to carry on the program.
The project was praised by speakers at the luncheon, including former Vice-President Charles G. Dawes, Samuel Seabury, the lawyer; Maurice Wertheim, the banker, and Dr. Frank Kingdon, president of the University of Newark, who presided and read a letter from John D. Rockefeller Jr.
