Police, troops and agrarian reservists today clashed with armed bands, identified by Police Chief Miguel Cardenas as members of Los Dorados, the Mexican Fascist Gold Shirts at several points in Tamaulipas State, the United Press reported from Matamoros.

Three members of these armed bands and a policeman were known to have been slain, the U.P. said. Shortly before noon Cardenas said he had a report that Federal troops were engaged in a fierce battle with the “rebel” organization at Ramirez, about thirty miles from Matamoros.
