Threat of strike by the Federation of Jewish Teachers, in protest against withdrawal of a $5 monthly “cost of living” allowance added to teachers’ salaries two years ago, has been ended. Negotiations between the teachers and the Jewish National Council, which administers the Jewish school system in Palestine, will be resumed. Points at issue will be submitted to arbitration.

The Government decided today to allot $10,000 to Tel Aviv Jewish schools to be used in providing meals. The city also received Government permission to float a loan of $125,000 to be used for public works.
