In order to “obviate difficulties” in obtaining passports, German subjects who are not citizens should sign a statement that they are not Jewish within the meaning of the Nuremberg laws, according to a decree issued by the Minister of Interior. An applicant unwilling to sign such a statement, the decree declares, must furnish documentary evidence of his “Aryanism.”
