Jewish lawyers and those of other national minorities born in the provinces annexed by Rumania after the war will be required to pass examinations on their knowledge of the Rumanian language, the president of the Rumanian Bar Association announced today.
Those lawyers born in the Old Kingdom are exempt from the examination, he said in a statement to the press clarifying a previous announcement of the examination requirement. It had been feared that the examination would be used to eliminate Jewish lawyers.
