Newspapers reported from Vienna that the “Aryan” management of the Josefstadt theatre, founded by Max Reinhardt, has decided to close the theatre temporarily. The Neue Freie Presse said no decision had yet been reached on its future. A number of other famous Vienna theatres are now closed, including the Kammerspiele, the Komoedie, the Modernes, the Raymund, the Stedt, the scala, the Operetta, the Ronacher and the Theatre for 49.
