Two Jewish auxiliary policemen were killed today and a third was slightly injured in the explosion of what was believed to be a terrorist-planted road mine near Bassa while they were on their way to Hanita, Palestine’s newest and northerly-most Jewish colony.

One British soldier was slightly injured when a military escort accompanying Public Works Department workers was fired upon near Tulkarem. A band attacked and looted the Government agricultural experimentation station near Gisala.

Planes, troops and police engaged and Arab terrorist band near Zichron Jacob, killing three Arabs and capturing three rifles and considerable ammunition. The Government forces suffered no casualties. Terrorists shot and seriously wounded a Jew named Yehuda Roznovsky on the Karkur road.

Continuing their campaign of putting Jewish-owned fields to the torch, terrorists set fire to 15 acres of wheat at Beit Vegan, in the Jezreel Valley. Colonists trying to extinguish the flames were subjected by the terrorists to gunfire for two hours.
