The Catholic Church rejects racialism, Cardinal Kakowski declared, replying to the Fascist Falanga, which had protested against the appointment of Father Tadeusz Puder, Catholic priest of Jewish origin, as vicar of the Church of the Holy Jazek. Father Puder, who was converted to Catholicism, but still avows his Jewish origin, is believed to be in line for a bishopric. The Church of the Holy Jazek has as members more than 300 Warsaw Jews converted to Catholicism.
