Official circles denied today reports published abroad that the Government had prohibited the publication of translations of books by foreign Jewish authors and discouraged the displaying of books by italian Jewish authors in bookshops. These circles reiterated Italy’s attitude as expressed by the communique published by informazione diplomatica on feb. 16, which said that the regime was considering no measures against Jews, except for anti-Fascist elements.
