At least 4,000 Jewish families were evicted from their apartments in Vienna yesterday, after having been given two to five days’ notice, it was learned here today.

Reports reaching here said all Jewish enterprises in Austria must be offered for sale during the month of August. Jewish shops failing to display signs reading, “Offered for Aryanization,” will be closed down, it was reported. Eighty-six Jewish restaurant and cafe owners whose licenses have been withdrawn by the Vienna Nazi authorities, it was learned, have appealed for aid to the Vienna Jewish Community.

Every Sunday, hundreds of Jewish families, with perambulators, walk eight miles out of Vienna to a Jewish cemetery which is now the only place of recreation available since Jews are banned from all public parks.
