A new civil airport — the first Jewish airport in history — was inaugurated here today with ceremonies attended by Government officials and other prominent persons in the presence of a large crowd. Mayor Israel Rokach asked that High Commissioner Sir Harold A. Macmichael convert the airport’s temporary permit into a permanent one.
