British Novelist Sees England “gone Fascist in Its Sleep”

“England has gone Fascist in its sleep” and the present government is definitely pro-Nazi, it was charged yesterday by Phyllis bottom, english novelist, arriving in new York to lecture here. miss bottom, who is the author of “the Mortal Storm,” a novel depicting Nazi persecution of Jewish intellectuals, has been devoting efforts to aiding Jewish refugees in London and in aiding Jews to escape from Austria. She is the author of a document, “J’Accuse,” which accuses the British Government of shutting its eyes to the menace of Hitlerism.
