Earle Sends Message to Hull

Governor George H. Earle announced today he had sent a message to Secretary of state hull expressing dismay at reports of british repudiation of the Balfour declaration and the pales tine mandate. he said that our government subscribed to the pales tine declaration, and sanctity of international commitments should prevail in this situation.”

A resolution memorializing President Roosevelt and secretary of state hull to make known to Britain “that this country looks to Great Britain to adhere to her commitments and to hold fast to the terms of the pales tine mandate and to the spirit of the Balfour Declaration” was introduced in the State Senate by Senator Ruth. It was referred to the Committee on Judiciary General. The resolution was offered at the request of a committee of Jewish leaders.
